JOS WILDLIFE PARK – PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
The Plateau State Tourism Corporation has received numerous reports of herders sneaking cattle into Jos Wildlife Park for night grazing between 8 PM and 7 AM, when park staff are few. Herdsmen gain entry through water channels and by breaking padlocks on gates along the western boundary near ITF Headquarters.
MEASURES TAKEN
• All pedestrian entry points have been temporarily sealed off.
• Park patrols have been intensified.
• Joint security operations with the Police and other agencies are underway to arrest and prosecute offenders.
The Park management has already secured arrests and prosecutions of herders and illegal miners, and remains committed to enforcing the law.
The public should be rest assured that urgent efforts are already being made by His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, to deploy lasting measures aimed at securing the Park and ensuring the long-term protection of this vital conservation area.
We commend communities, especially Dong Kassa, for their vigilance. Please continue reporting suspicious activities.
Remember: Jos Wildlife Park is a vital state asset—protect it for future generations.
