TASKFORCE ON RECOVERY OF PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT PROPERTIES RECORDS MAJOR PROGRESS

The Chief of Staff to the Plateau State Government, Hon. Jerry Satmak, on Monday, April 27, 2026, received an interim report from the taskforce saddled with the recovery of government properties, led by retired General Nash Yakubu. Speaking during the presentation, the taskforce leader said the team has been working for over a year and has made significant recoveries. “We have recovered over 60 buildings, as well as construction equipment and vehicles. Items that could not be moved to Jos were kept at various local government headquarters, while those recovered within Jos metropolis have been moved to a central parking area. The report is detailed, but it is still ongoing. Even as we leave here, we are going for more recoveries. The more we recover, the more we discover. ECWA Elects New Leaders, Approves DCC Expansion, Rebrands TV Station at 73rd GCC

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has elected new leaders, approved the creation of additional District Church Councils, and rebranded its television station as part of major resolutions from its 73rd General Church Council meeting held April 21–24, 2026, in Jos. The four-day meeting, led by ECWA President Rev. Dr. Ayuba Job Bagat Mallam, brought together delegates from 96 DCCs across Nigeria and the diaspora. The Council issued a communiqué at the close of proceedings. Leadership Elections; Rev. Chidi Joseph Madubuko was elected ECWA Vice President. Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe was returned unopposed for a second term as General Secretary, while Rev. Dr. Ezekiel Babatunde Omidiji was elected Trustee for Zone 9. Plateau Govt Receives VIO Probe Report, Moves to Reform Agency and Appoints New Director The Plateau State Government has received the report of a committee set up to investigate the activities of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), with authorities pledging sweeping reforms to address identified lapses and restore public confidence. The report was formally presented at the Ministry of Transport, Plateau State Secretariat, by the committee chairman, Istifanus Dimang, who outlined key findings from the investigation.

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that Plateau State remains a place of refuge for all law-abiding Nigerians displaced from the North Eastern parts of the country.
