The Plateau State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning under Barr. Gai, has recorded several recent achievements, especially under ongoing reforms in Plateau State.
1. Massive increase in revenue generation
The ministry has significantly boosted internally generated revenue.
It generated about ₦500 million by August 2024, up from about ₦173 million in 2023.
By 2025, the internally generated revenue reportedly rose further to around ₦1.3b within eight months.
This shows stronger efficiency and improved financial contribution to the state.
2. Faster and improved land title processing. Processing of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) has improved drastically.
What used to take years now takes about 2–3 months.
Over 2,200 certificates were issued within a year—far higher than previous administrations.
3. Digital transformation (GIS / PLAGIS)
Introduction and strengthening of the Plateau Geographic Information System (PLAGIS).
This has:
Digitized land records
Improved transparency
Reduced corruption and delays
4. Reforms in land administration
Streamlining of processes for:
Land allocation
Title registration
Survey approvals.
These reforms restored public trust and efficiency in the ministry.
5. Infrastructure and office upgrades
