GOVERNOR MUTFWANG ATTENDS MWAGHAVUL SOLEMN ASSEMBLY, PUUS DANGNAAN 2026 ANNUAL PRAYER DAY; URGES UNITY, LOVE, AND FAITH FOR SUSTAINED PROSPERITY
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed profound gratitude to God Almighty for His protection and abundant blessings upon the sons and daughters of the Mwaghavul Nation, urging them to remain united in Christ and continue to uphold the virtues of love, peace, and brotherhood for the prosperity of the land.
Governor Mutfwang noted that sustained unity among the Mwaghavul people would attract greater development and strengthen communal progress. He emphasized that his administration has implemented several impactful projects across the state, stressing that the Mwaghavul Nation remains a significant beneficiary of the ongoing infrastructural development initiatives of the government.
While acknowledging the security challenges the state has faced in the past, including hostile plots that resulted in the loss of lives, the Governor thanked God for granting victory and preserving the land. He further disclosed that the state government has introduced improved seedlings of Plateau potatoes aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers across the state.
Governor Mutfwang appreciated the people for their prayers and steadfast support for his administration and reassured them of his commitment to continue serving Plateau State with dedication, responsibility, and integrity.
He also called on parents and guardians to take greater responsibility for the upbringing of their children, expressing concern over the growing cases of child trafficking across the state. The Governor urged citizens to collaborate with government in combating drug abuse and other social vices that threaten the future of young people and the peace of society.
The Governor made these remarks on Saturday during the Mwaghavul Solemn Assembly, Puus Dangnaan 2026 Annual Prayer Day, with the theme “Revival and Spiritual Awakening in Mwaghavul Nation,” held at Mangu Stadium in Mangu Local Government Area on March 7, 2026.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the gathering, the Chairman of the Mwaghavul Ministers’ Forum, Rev. Istifanus Ishaya, described Puus Dangnaan as a sacred spiritual altar for the Mwaghavul Nation. He explained that the solemn assembly represents a divine appointment where the people humble themselves before God through repentance, thanksgiving, and intercession for the land.
Rev. Ishaya noted that the gathering provides a platform for spiritual renewal, calling the Mwaghavul people back to righteousness, unity, and moral responsibility. According to him, the assembly strengthens faith, restores broken relationships, and renews covenant consciousness among the people.
He commended Governor Mutfwang for his purposeful leadership and commitment to promoting peace, unity, security, and stability among the diverse ethnic nationalities in Plateau State. He added that the state has witnessed remarkable infrastructural renewal, agricultural revitalization, youth empowerment initiatives, and economic growth through several impactful government programmes.
The Mishkagham Mwaghavul and President of the Mangu Local Government Traditional Council, Daa John Putmang Hirse, described the spiritual programme as a defining moment for the Mwaghavul Nation, where the people consciously prioritize God’s virtues above material pursuits. He urged the people to remain steadfast in faith and united in Christ for the continued prosperity of the land.
Similarly, the National President of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), Daa Bulus Dabit, expressed appreciation to the organizers of the spiritual programme, noting that the Solemn Assembly serves as an important platform for spiritual reawakening among Mwaghavul sons and daughters. He called on the people to remain resilient and continue to demonstrate love, unity, and collective commitment toward the progress of the community.
He also commended Governor Mutfwang for his unwavering commitment to security, purposeful leadership, infrastructural development, and the overall welfare of the people of Plateau State.
Delivering the sermon, the Guest Preacher, Rev. Dr. Benjamin Nasara, drew his text from Habakkuk 3:1–3 and spoke on the theme “Revival and Spiritual Awakening in Mwaghavul Nation” (Baa Mii Shak Ki Riin Ki Naan Nyil Mwaghavul). He challenged the people to make a firm and sincere commitment to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly without turning back.
Rev. Nasara urged the people not to dwell on blame for past challenges but rather return to God in repentance and seek His forgiveness in order to enjoy the blessings and fruits of the land. He emphasized that the Mwaghavul land has greatly benefited from the gospel of salvation and noted that genuine revival can only emerge through forgiveness, reconciliation, humility, and compassion—virtues that must guide the people.
Goodwill messages were delivered by Hon. Ishaya Lalu, Member representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; Hon. Emmanuel Bala Mwolpun, Executive Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area; and Hon. Mathew Sylvanus Kwarpo, Member representing Mangu South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly.
Special prayers were offered to thank God for preserving the Mwaghavul Nation amidst various challenges. Prayers were also offered for divine blessings, protection, guidance, and wisdom for Mwaghavul sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora.
The congregation further prayed for His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Plateau State, and Nigeria, asking God to grant the Governor wisdom, justice, and fairness in leadership.
