I Reaffirm My Commitment to People-Centered Development, Call for Unity Against Insecurity and Poverty. says Gov. Mutfwang

Today, I stand once again to reaffirm my unwavering commitment to delivering people-centered development under the guidance of God. My administration remains fully dedicated to translating policies into practical solutions that meet the real needs of our people.

Together with my dear wife, Her Excellency Barr. Helen Mutfwang, I had the privilege of worshiping at St. Luke’s Cathedral, Anglican Communion, Rwang Pam Street, Jos, on Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost is a deeply significant moment in our Christian faith, it marks the descent of the Holy Spirit, equipping believers to carry out God’s work on earth. In that same spirit, I renew my pledge to serve Plateau State with grace, diligence, and faith.
I thank the Church for your prayers, your spiritual support is a pillar of strength for my administration and for the peace we seek across our state. I urge the body of Christ to remain steadfast in love and unity. These are the virtues that will sustain us.

We are aware of the insecurity that plagues some of our communities. While I do not downplay the severity of these challenges, I have always believed that they are distractions from the core issue we must address: poverty. It is poverty that fuels despair, division, and unrest. That is why we are tackling it head-on, through a multifaceted approach, especially by unlocking the transformative power of agriculture. Our people must be empowered to rise above subsistence living and into prosperity.

I know many of our families are facing tough times, and expectations are high. While not every solution will yield immediate results, we are working every day, prayerfully and intentionally to bring lasting relief and transformation. I am confident we are on the right path, by the grace of God.

In education, we are taking bold steps. One of those is the planned return of all missionary schools to their original owners, as part of our larger effort to revive educational values and excellence. I was especially proud to learn of St. Paul’s Academy’s recent success as one of their students emerged as the second-best candidate nationwide in the last JAMB examination. This is the kind of excellence we want to nurture across Plateau State.

But I cannot do this alone. I call on all citizens to rise with me in collective responsibility. Let us join hands to overcome our challenges and build the Plateau of our dreams. Our journey requires unity, resilience, and faith.

To the Anglican Church and the entire body of Christ,
I thank you once again for your kind words, your commendation, and above all, your prayers. Let us continue to lean on the Holy Spirit as our guide and strength.

Together, with God, we will succeed.
