STATEWIDE TOUR: COMMISSIONER GAR APPLAUDS BOKKOS CHAIRMAN FOR PERFORMANCE DESPITE CHALLENGES

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ephraim Usman Gar, has applauded the performance of the Chairman of Bokkos Local Government Council, Hon. Amalau Samuel, despite the security challenges bedeviling the area.

The commendation was made during an assessment visit by the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to Bokkos Local Government Area, where the team inspected projects including a new hall for the traditional council at the palace of HRH Saf Lawrence Aizat, that was same day commissioned by the commissioner. Other sites visited include an ongoing construction of a shopping complex, an office building for CAN, remodeled offices in the council secretariat, upgrading secretariat gate and others.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the Chairman's performance, noting that Bokkos has faced security challenges spanning several years. He said that despite the challenges, the Chairman has continued to deliver projects with direct impact on the people. He urged residents of Bokkos to give the Chairman maximum support to sustain the momentum.

He also noted that while performance varies, all five chairmen in the central zone have performed wonderfully well with the meagre resources available to them, and urged them to do more.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Amalau Samuel appreciated the leadership of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ephraim Usman Gar, for providing a level playing ground that has enabled chairmen in the state to perform and deliver on their mandates.

He pledged to continue to contribute his quota despite the security challenges, noting that his administration has interventions in healthcare, infrastructure, education, agriculture and the local economy spread across the 20 wards of the LGA.

The Chairman also highlighted several projects executed in Bokkos by the state government. According to him, these include the revival of the water treatment plant which had been abandoned for years, which has now restored supply to the Bokkos water board and benefited residents of the local government.

He listed other ongoing state government road projects to include the UTC Junction to Manguna, the Josho to Daffo road, and several others. He said the projects demonstrate the love the Governor has for the people of Bokkos.

The Chairman added, "I'm assuring you that Bokkos will vote 5/5 come 2027."
