PLATEAU STATE MINISTRY OF LANDS, SURVEY AND TOWN PLANNING UNDERTAKES PEER-LEARNING VISIT TO KANO ON SYSTEMATIC LAND TITLE REGISTRATION

The Plateau State Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning undertook a two-day peer-learning visit to Kano State to gain practical knowledge and experience on Systematic Land Title Registration (SLTR).

The learning visit, sponsored by the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), was held at the Kano State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning and provided an opportunity for participants to gain valuable insights into the processes, implementation, and benefits of systematic land title registration.

During the engagement, the Director-General of the Kano State land administration system highlighted the importance of SLTR and explained how its implementation has contributed to improving land documentation, digitization, registration processes, accessibility, and efficient land administration in Kano State.

The Plateau State delegation also had the opportunity to interact with relevant officials and learn from Kano State’s practical experience, with a view to adopting best practices that can strengthen land administration and support the ongoing reforms in Plateau State.

The visit underscores the commitment of the Hon. Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Hon. Peter Nyam Gai, Esq., to embrace innovation, knowledge-sharing, and modern approaches to land administration for the benefit of the people of Plateau State.
