DCDA AND B.O.T. MEMBERS PAY CONDOLENCE VISIT TO FAMILY OF LATE DR. GYANG DAVID JOSEPH
Officials of the Du Community Development Association (DCDA), alongside members of its Board of Trustees (B.O.T.), paid a condolence visit to the family of late Dr. Gyang David Joseph, a distinguished member of the DCDA Board of Trustees.
Dr. Gyang was a medical practitioner who made significant contributions to the development of Du community. Despite establishing his professional career in Owerri, Imo State, he remained deeply committed to his family, profession and community. His service, generosity and dedication to humanity earned him a place on the DCDA Board of Trustees.
Speaking during the visit, the President of DCDA, Da Silas Pwajok Bot, urged the bereaved family to remain strong and put their trust in God. He described the deceased as a friend, brother and in-law who was always supportive of the development of Du whenever his assistance was sought.
He noted that Dr. Gyang's death was a great loss to the community, stressing that his contributions and impact would remain indelible. He also encouraged his wife, Mrs. Ifoma David Gyang, to remain steadfast in the Lord and find comfort in God.
Responding on behalf of the family, Da Simon Karak appreciated DCDA for the visit, describing Dr. Gyang's death as a great loss to the Berom nation. He noted that the late medical practitioner lived a fulfilled life in the eastern part of Nigeria and earned the respect of the people through his exemplary conduct and respect for their culture and traditions.
B.O.T. members present included Assoc. Prof. Kezia Pam-Rwang, Prof. Daniel Dabi and Dr. Joel Lomak. Apologies were received from Da Daniel Nyam, who is in Lagos, and Gyang Zi, SAN, who is out of the country.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the deceased's soul and for God's comfort upon the bereaved family by Assoc. Prof. Kezia Pam-Rwang and Dr. Joel Lomak.
The burial is scheduled for 28th August 2026 at his residence in Latyi, Du. Sympathisers are expected to converge at the JUTH Permanent Site Mortuary by 8:00 a.m.
