Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Barr. Governor M utfwang made the remarks during an interactive meeting with leaders of the Igbo community drawn from across Plateau State at the Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.

"The relationship between Plateau State and the Igbo community is founded on mutual trust, respect, and a shared vision for progress. We deeply value your contributions and remain committed to protecting every law-abiding resident while creating a peaceful, secure, and business-friendly environment where enterprises can thrive and investments are protected," the Governor stated.

Governor Mutfwang noted that the Middle Belt has remained a welcoming home for the Igbo people, where they continue to enjoy acceptance, friendship, and opportunities to flourish. He urged the community to sustain its support for Plateau State by promoting peaceful coexistence, praying for the peace of the State, and partnering with his administration in building a united, secure, and prosperous society.

Responding to concerns raised by the Ndigbo over a land-related matter, the Governor assured the delegation that the State Government would ensure justice prevails once all legal and administrative processes are duly concluded. He emphasized that his administration remains committed to fairness, due process, and the protection of legitimate rights.

As a demonstration of his goodwill and appreciation for the longstanding relationship between the State and the Igbo community, Governor Mutfwang announced a donation to support the activities of the Ndigbo in Plateau State.

The Governor also expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming support the Igbo community gave him during the 2023 governorship election, assuring them that his administration would continue to pursue inclusive policies that guarantee equal opportunities, fairness, and economic prosperity for every resident, irrespective of ethnicity, religion, or place of origin.

Speaking on behalf of the Igbo community, the President-General of Ndigbo in Plateau State, Chief Chidi Onah, reaffirmed the community's unwavering support for the Mutfwang administration. He commended the Governor's inclusive leadership, people-centred policies, and steadfast commitment to fostering peace, unity, and equitable development across Plateau State.

Other leaders of the community also expressed appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for sustaining a cordial relationship with the Ndigbo and for creating an atmosphere in which every ethnic group enjoys a sense of belonging. They reaffirmed their loyalty to the Plateau State Government and appealed for compensation regarding a property belonging to one of their members that was acquired by the State Government in the overriding public interest.

The meeting further reinforced the enduring partnership between the Plateau State Government and the Igbo community, underscoring a shared commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, inclusive governance, economic prosperity, and the collective development of Plateau State.
