‎PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR COMMISSIONS GANGARE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS, CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau state, has commissioned the Gangare Development Projects in Jos North Local Government Area, reaffirming his administration's commitment to expanding access to quality education, healthcare, and other essential social services while calling on citizens to embrace unity as the foundation for sustainable development.
‎The projects, executed by the Presidential Implementation Committee on Technology Transfer (PICTT), comprise a modern Primary Health Care Centre and a multi-purpose hall at Government Secondary School, Gangare, aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery, enhancing educational infrastructure and promoting community development.
‎Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Governor Mutfwang lauded the Chairman of PICTT, Dr. Mohammed Dahiru, for his patriotism and unwavering commitment to the development of Plateau State, describing him as an exemplary citizen who has remained connected to his roots despite his national engagements.
‎The Governor urged Plateau indigenes occupying strategic positions across the country to emulate Dr. Dahiru by using their influence and networks to attract meaningful development to their communities.
‎Reflecting on his administration's development agenda, Governor Mutfwang said the true essence of leadership is improving the quality of life of the people through access to healthcare, education, clean water and other basic amenities.
‎He noted that the commissioning of the Mado Water Project earlier in the day, which ended decades of water scarcity in the community, underscored government's resolve to restore dignity and hope to underserved communities.
‎The Governor disclosed that the state government is investing over ₦30 billion to rehabilitate and modernise the water supply system across the Jos-Bukuru metropolis through interventions supported by the African Development Bank, expressing confidence that residents would witness significant improvements in water supply within the next twelve months.
‎Governor Mutfwang also appealed to political, religious and traditional leaders to rise above ethnic and religious differences and work together to preserve the peace and unity Plateau State has always been known for.
‎"The struggle for power is to bring the benefits  to the people. They want access to healthcare, good education for their children and the basic amenities of modernity. When leaders arise and take responsibility, there is peace in the land and there is progress in the land," the Governor stated.
‎He assured the Gangare community that government would carefully study the requests presented by community leaders and identify immediate, medium and long-term interventions capable of addressing their developmental needs, while reiterating his administration's commitment to transparency and delivering value for every public investment.
‎Earlier, Chairman of PICTT, Dr. Mohammed Dahiru, said the projects reflected his enduring attachment to Plateau State and his desire to give back to the community that shaped his life.
‎He called for renewed unity among the people, lamenting that divisions based on ethnicity and religion had hindered the state's progress, while pledging continued collaboration with the Plateau State Government to attract more developmental interventions.
‎"This is my home. This is where I was born, where I was brought up, and the community that gave me everything I have. Wherever I am, I will always come back and give my little contribution because this is my foundation," Dr. Dahiru said.
‎Representatives of the Gangare community expressed appreciation to the Plateau State Government and PICTT for the landmark projects, describing them as timely interventions that would improve healthcare and educational services. They also appealed for additional government support in the areas of potable water, road infrastructure and other essential social amenities.
