JOS NORTH LGC TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CENTRE IN GANGARE
The newly constructed Primary Healthcare Centre in Gangare, Jos North Local Government Area, has been officially handed over to the Council, following its recent commissioning by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The handover was carried out by the Ward Head of Gangare, Usman Guda, and the Councillor representing Gangare Ward, Hon. Adamu Sale Hassan.
They said the facility was being handed over for the local government to take charge, equip, and oversee the hospital for effective service delivery.
They both extended profound appreciation to the philanthropist who built the PHC, Dr. Muhammed Dahiru, praying for more blessings upon him for his intervention in the community.
The facility was received on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Barr. John Kyoroh Christopher, by the Supervisory Councillor for Health, Hon. Asabe Yohanna, in a ceremony attended by health officials, community leaders, and stakeholders.
Speaking at the handover, Hon. Yohanna described the project as a major boost to healthcare delivery in Gangare and surrounding communities.
She commended Governor Mutfwang for commissioning the facility and praised the Executive Chairman for prioritizing the health sector to ensure residents have access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
Hon. Yohanna assured the community that the Council will immediately deploy qualified personnel and essential drugs to the centre to commence operations.
She further reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to strengthen primary healthcare across all wards in Jos North in line with Governor Mutfwang’s vision for improved health services in Plateau State.
The new centre is equipped with a maternity ward, male and female wards, immunization unit, laboratory, consulting rooms, pharmacy, staff quarters, among others. It is expected to serve many residents who previously traveled long distances to access basic medical care.
Community leaders at the event expressed appreciation Dr. Muhammed Dahiru for building the clinic, Governor Mutfwang and the Council for the project in Gangare, noting that it will address years of healthcare challenges in the area. They pledged to protect the facility and support health workers for effective service delivery.
The handover ceremony ended with an inspection tour of the facility by the Supervisory Councillor, health officials, and community representatives..
