HON. BARR. PETER NYAM GAI RECEIVES AWARD FROM WOWICAN PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER

The Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Hon. Barr. Peter Nyam Gai, has been honoured with an award by the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Plateau State Chapter, in recognition of his commitment to inclusive land administration and the empowerment of women across Plateau State.

The event, themed "Bridging the Cultural Divide Among Us Through Christ Jesus," celebrated outstanding individuals whose leadership and service have made a positive impact on society.

Representing the Honourable Commissioner at the event was Hon. Justina Emmanuel Wang, Special Adviser on Technical Matters. In her remarks, she commended the women for their resilience and encouraged them to pursue economic independence through legitimate means, particularly by embracing land ownership as a pathway to financial security.

She further highlighted the Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning's commitment to promoting equal access to land administration, emphasizing that women are encouraged to obtain Certificates of Occupancy and other land titles in their own names. She assured participants that the Ministry remains committed to providing a transparent, accessible, and supportive environment for every woman seeking to own property.

Hon. Justina also conveyed the appreciation of Hon. Barr. Peter Nyam Gai to the Women Wing of CAN for the honour bestowed upon him. She reaffirmed the Ministry's unwavering commitment to policies and programmes that promote equity, inclusion, and sustainable development in line with the vision of the Plateau State Government.

The event was graced by the presence of the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Her Excellency Ngo Josephine Piyo, who represented His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State. Also in attendance were senior government officials, and dignitaries from various ministries, departments, and agencies, all united in promoting peace, unity, and the advancement of women in society.
