HEALTH RECORD AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONERS HONOUR HON. SANI ABUBAKAR SHILAK (SANI GOLDEN)

Equally commendable is the ability to sustain harmony, cohesion, and peaceful coexistence within a community.
These exceptional attributes aptly define Hon. Sani Abubakar Shilak, popularly known as Sani Golden, whose unwavering commitment to community unity and grassroots development has earned him the prestigious Award of Excellence in Community Unity from the Association of Health Record and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AHRIMPN), Plateau State Chapter.
Hon. Shilak is a distinguished grassroots politician and advocate of peace whose contributions to youth empowerment, community development, and social cohesion have continued to resonate across Mangu North and Plateau State at large.
He is the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer for the Plateau State House of Assembly, Mangu North Constituency.
The award recipient was among the dignitaries who graced the Association's Annual Health Information Practitioners (HIP) Week, held under the theme, "Guardians of Health Information: Driving Healthcare Transformation Through Technology." The event, which commenced on June 4 and culminated on June 5, featured insightful paper presentations by Professor Sani Nasir on "Guardians of Health Information" and Dr. Richard J. Kutshik on "Understanding Public Perception of HIM Practitioners."
Speaking during the occasion, the Chairman of AHRIMPN, Plateau State Chapter, Comrade Benjamin Idi Bishtu, extolled the exemplary leadership qualities of Hon. Shilak, describing him as a unifying figure whose unwavering dedication to community development has positively impacted countless lives.
According to Comrade Bishtu, Hon. Shilak's remarkable ability to bring people together across ethnic, religious, and political divides for the common good distinguishes him as an outstanding leader worthy of recognition and commendation.
He further noted that Hon. Shilak's steadfast commitment to promoting harmony, cooperation, inclusiveness, and peaceful coexistence throughout Mangu North remains unparalleled. His relentless efforts in strengthening communal bonds, fostering understanding, and advancing sustainable development have made him a beacon of hope and a symbol of unity within the constituency.
Responding to the honour, Hon. Sani Abubakar Shilak aka Golden expressed profound appreciation to the Association for finding him worthy of such a prestigious recognition. He described the award as both humbling and inspiring, pledging to redouble his efforts in promoting peace, unity, and people-oriented development across Plateau State.
He also called on the people of Plateau State to continue supporting the administration of the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, to enable the government to consolidate on its developmental strides and elevate the state to greater heights.
As a demonstration of his support for the Association and its noble objectives, Hon. Shilak donated the sum of ₦300,000. He also announced an additional donation of ₦500,000 on behalf of Dr. Aliyu, the member representing Jos North North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, who was unavoidably absent because he travelled outside the state and conveyed his sincere apologies to the organisers and participants.
