GOVERNOR MUTFWANG MOURNS WITH DA SENATOR JONAH DAVID JANG OVER THE PASSING OF HIS SISTER-IN-LAW, NGO YOP PAM JANG, AT 95
The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has paid a condolence visit to the family of former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North, His Excellency, Da Senator Jonah David Jang, following the passing of their beloved sister-in-law, Ngo Yop Pam Jang, who peacefully passed on at the age of 95.
Governor Mutfwang was accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Piyo; the Secretary to the Government of the State, Arc. Samuel Nanchang Jatau; the Chief of Staff, Government House Jos, Bldr. Jeremiah Satmark; and other members of the State Executive Council. The condolence visit took place at the Du residence of Da Senator Jonah David Jang.
While commiserating with the bereaved family, Governor Mutfwang described the passing of Mama Ngo Yop Pam Jang as a moment of both mourning and celebration, noting that attaining the age of 95 is a testament to God’s grace and faithfulness.
He stated that the family has every reason to celebrate her remarkable life of purpose, sacrifice, peace, and service to humanity, adding that she contributed immensely to the unity and development of both her family and community.
The Governor described Mama as a virtuous woman who raised children and family members that are today contributing meaningfully to the growth and progress of Plateau State and Nigeria at large. He further noted that the Jang family remains a respected household name in Plateau State because of its enduring legacy of service and leadership.
“God is the owner of times and seasons. The Bible makes it clear that there is a season for every activity under heaven; a time to be born and a time to die. This is one of such moments that has come upon us,” the Governor stated.
He added that Mama lived a fulfilled and purposeful life marked by compassion, empathy, and commitment to family values and community peace. He prayed for God to grant Da Senator Jonah David Jang sound health, strength, and long life, while encouraging the younger generation to emulate Mama’s exemplary life of service to God and humanity.
He described the loss as painful, noting that no matter how long a loved one lives, their passing always leaves a vacuum. "No matter how old a loved one is, when death comes, there is always a vacuum created. Even in sickness, the presence of a loved one remains a blessing. We thank God for Mama’s life and the impact she made. Though her absence will be deeply felt, we are grateful for a life well spent,” he said.
On behalf of his family, the Government, and the good people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended heartfelt condolences to Senator Jonah David Jang and the entire Jang family, praying that God would comfort them and grant them the strength to uphold Mama’s enduring legacy.
Responding on behalf of the family, Da. Senator Jonah David Jang expressed profound appreciation to Governor Mutfwang, the Deputy Governor, and members of the State Executive Council for the solidarity visit and show of compassion during the family’s moment of grief.
He stated that the family is deeply consoled by the Governor’s presence and assured that, as the patriarch of the family, he would continue to guide and unite family members in sustaining Mama’s legacy of peace, unity, and integrity.
