BARR. PETER NYAM GAI INTRODUCES KEEP-FIT AT THE MINISTRY OF LANDS TO BOOST STAFF PRODUCTIVITY

The Plateau State Ministry of Lands,  Survey and Town Planning Introduces Sports Facilities to Boost Staff Productivity
Acting on the popular saying, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” the Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Hon. Barr. Peter Nyam Gai, has introduced sports facilities within the ministry to promote staff productivity, improve cognitive function, and enhance overall well-being.

The facilities were commissioned following a 7.6-kilometre keep-fit road walk led by the Commissioner. The exercise commenced from the ministry’s headquarters at No. 12 J.D. Gomwalk Boulevard, through Tudun Wada and Secretariat Junction, before returning to the ministry premises. Organisers noted that the fitness exercise helped participants burn approximately 400 calories each.

The event also served as an avenue for staff to sensitize the public on the ongoing reforms and transformation within the ministry under the “Time Is Now” agenda of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State.

The newly commissioned facilities include badminton and table tennis courts, with plans already underway to introduce basketball and volleyball courts in the next phase.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Director of Administration commended the Commissioner for the initiative, describing it as a thoughtful step toward improving workers’ health and morale. He assured management that the facilities would be properly maintained for long-term use.

Hon. Barr. Peter Nyam Gai stated that the initiative is in line with the government’s commitment to building a healthier, more motivated workforce capable of effectively driving the developmental goals of the present administration.
