CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME: APC KURU DISTRICT ENDORSES AMBASSADOR CHRIS GIWA, PhD, FOR SENATE

In what came as a surprise development during the APC Kuru District critical stakeholders’ meeting—attended by federal and state ward executives—Ambassador Chris Giwa, PhD, received a unanimous endorsement as the preferred candidate for the Plateau North Senatorial District.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of APC stakeholders in Kuru District, Da Daniel Mandung, expressed strong confidence in the candidacy of Ambassador Chris Giwa, citing his selfless service to humanity. Several other APC leaders also voiced their support for his senatorial ambition, including Da Davou Jama (Kuru A Ward), Hon. Pam Raymond John (APC Chairman, Kushe Ward), Hon. Joshua John (Chairman, Kuru A Federal Ward), and Hon. Chuhwak Cletus (Chairman, Kuru B Ward).

The Leader of the Jos South Legislative Arm, Hon. Chomo Shen, urged APC stakeholders in Kuru to remain united and speak with one voice for the progress of the party and the well-being of the people. He emphasized, “There will be no dividends of democracy if the right people are not elected to represent the people.”

In his response, Ambassador Dr. Chris Giwa expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from his home base. He described the endorsement as a “home call” and pledged not to disappoint the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Plateau North Senatorial Zone if elected in the forthcoming elections.

Ambassador Giwa also spoke passionately about the pressing challenges facing the region, including rising poverty, insecurity, youth unemployment, and inadequate healthcare facilities. He promised to make education more affordable and accessible, while empowering citizens through meaningful funding initiatives to promote self-reliance.
Amb. Chris Giwa is one person that is living with his people in Kuru, so he feels the pulse of the people going through the challenge of insecurity together.

Party faithfuls expressed strong belief in his aspiration to become the next Senator representing Plateau North, pointing to his proven track record, capacity, and accessibility. Despite not holding any elective office, Ambassador Giwa has made significant contributions as a private sector businessman—offering full scholarships to numerous youths at both secondary and tertiary levels, creating employment opportunities across state and federal levels, and supporting sports development, particularly football.

This endorsement from his home district stands as a clear testament to Ambassador Chris Giwa’s acceptance and popularity among the people, who deeply appreciate his humanitarian efforts and commitment to the development of Plateau State.
