MY ANGWA IS REALLY BLEEDING

What happened at my area last night, Angwan Rukuba in Jos North LGA, on Sunday 29th march, 2026 around 8:13p.m was like a movie, but this has further reminded Plateau people that terrorists have infiltrated the state not just our villages,  yes! I mean TERRORISTS with genocidal mission on the Plateau.

Last night deadly mission at my area of birth was another sad day after the 2010 Jos bomb blast at the same area, same spots, but this time around the terrorists alighted from a car and spread, taking positions at strategic places at the Angwan Rukuba junction, knowing fully well they might have spied the area prior to their operation.

For those that know Angwan Rukuba well, occasionally there has been series of raids and arrest by operatives of the National Drug Law (NDLEA) Enforcement Agency. So when the terrorists alighted from the car that brought them for the deadly and planned mission in a commando style well armed, the youths at the junction scampered for safety thinking it is NDLEA operatives. This thought saved some youths and also reduced the number of casualties. 

At this point, it was sporadic gunshots by the terrorists shooting rapidly and indiscriminately at any moving object, while they walked on foot, following a route along Gari ya waye hotel that links them to a stream around old legislative quaters making their way to the hills that connects to Maza village. While they move, they kill anyone on their way till they vanished to the hills.

Soldiers later came to the scene after the deed has been done with no trace or whereabouts of the devils, after killing about 27+ people with many injured at the hospital. 

With all sincerity the federal, state, and local government must step up to protect lives and property.

I must commend the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang who showed up this morning at the scene, on arriving Angwan Rukuba, the Governor met an angry crowd with emotions already high, requesting the governor to come down from the armoured van to where the corpses were kept, of which the governor waved at the crowd with deep sense of emotions walking to the corpses where he addressed my angwa people, stating;

There will be no mass burial for the victims,

Government will sponsor the burial of all killed,

Government will take responsibility of hospital bills of all victims,

and Government will not rest until all those who make inciting posts on the social media are all arrested.

After the governor's address, my angwa people emotionally applauded His Excellency, while youth leaders were onground to ensure the movement of the corpses to the mortuary, while calling on the youths to stand firm and defend themselves legally.

Plateau people beyond politics, irrespective of whatever belief must realise the fact that this is not banditry, or cultist clash. This is terrorism with a genocidal agenda.
