GOVERNOR MUTFWANG PREACHES NATIONAL UNITY AS PFN HONOURS GOWON, OBASANJO, T. Y. DANJUMA, AND OTHERS AT 40TH ANNIVERSARY

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has called on Nigerians to renew their trust in God for lasting peace and unity in the country. He commended the resilience and spiritual steadfastness of the founding fathers of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), who have consistently interceded for the peace and prosperity of the nation through prayer.

Governor Mutfwang made the call on Monday at the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the PFN, held at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. He congratulated the PFN under the leadership of Bishop Francis Wale Oke for four decades of fervent and consistent intercession, expressing optimism that the next forty years would usher in greater glory and divine breakthroughs for the body of Christ in Nigeria.

The Governor reaffirmed the commitment of the Plateau people to uphold the faith of Christ and to stand firm in defending the gospel for the realization of a godly and prosperous nation.

“On behalf of the Plateau State contingent, I want to thank you for inviting us to this historic occasion marking 40 years of the PFN. We pay tribute to the founding fathers who, from small beginnings, built this fellowship into what it is today,” he said.

“What we are witnessing is the evidence of God’s goodness over the fellowship. As we thank God for the past forty years, we must also trust Him for the forty years ahead. In my spirit, I perceive that God is leading this fellowship to a land of promise. We have dwelt on this mountain for too long, it is time to arise and move to the next level where God is taking us,” he declared.

Governor Mutfwang prayed for deeper fellowship, unity, and love among Christians, stressing that God is initiating a new move across the nation in which the PFN must continue to play a central role.

“It is time to deepen our bonds of unity. I believe God has begun a new work in Nigeria, and the PFN has a crucial role to play if we stand together. This will mark the next phase of our collective advancement,” he added.

In his address, the President of the PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, welcomed members to what he described as a landmark occasion, more than a commemoration of years, but a testimony to the unfailing grace of God and His enduring faithfulness.

“Forty years ago, God raised visionary fathers of faith who, with courage, sacrifice, and uncommon obedience, laid the foundation of what we celebrate today. They gave us not just a structure, but a spiritual heritage and a rallying point for Pentecostals across Nigeria. We salute our founding fathers for their foresight and unshakeable faith,” Bishop Oke said.

“By the grace of God, the PFN has become a formidable force for unity, a prophetic voice to the nation, a defender of the faith, and a channel of revival and transformation. Our structures are stronger, our presence is national, and our influence continues to shape the destiny of this great country,” he added.

The event, which drew dignitaries from across the country, had the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, among others, ably represented while the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong, former Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, Distinguished Sen. Napoleon Bali, Sen. I D Gyang and Hon. Beni Lar attended the occasion.
