ELECTIONS MUST BE WON AT POLLING UNITS, NOT COURTROOMS - Amupitan

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Amupitan, has emphasized that electoral victories must be determined by voters at the polling units, not through legal battles in courtrooms.

Speaking on the importance of credible and transparent elections, Prof. Amupitan urged political parties and candidates to focus on mobilizing voters and ensuring fair participation, rather than relying on post-election litigation to secure mandates.

“Elections must be won at polling units, not courtrooms,” he stated, reaffirming INEC’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible polls across the country.

The INEC boss also reiterated the Commission’s readiness to strengthen electoral integrity and restore public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process ahead of future elections.
