The final of the Plateau Christian Cup took place today, 26th October 2025, at Rochas School football field.

The match saw COCIN Hwolshe defeat ECWA Bishara Two Jenta 1-0 to emerge as champions of the second edition.

The tournament featured ten teams from various churches and ministries across Plateau State.

The Plateau Christian Cup is organized by the Lighthouse Rescue Sports Outreach (LRSO) to engage youths from churches in Plateau State through sports.

Speaking to journalists, the CEO of LRSO, Godfrey Bottson, said that he is happy with the way the tournament is organized.

"The project manager and technical director did a very good job.

"It was peaceful throughout; even players from the domestic league in Nigeria came down to represent their respective churches.

The project manager of the Plateau Christian Cup, Choji Bot, described the tournament as a very good one and fulfilling, and said this year's edition has seen a massive improvement.

He further said that the idea behind this initiative is to groom men and women who are in sports, and also for churches to own sports ministries.

Tongkit Raymond of Cocin Hwolshe scored the only goal in the 66th minute; he also won the Best Behaved Player award.

Former Plateau United player Gyang Amos from ECWA Bishara Two won the Highest Goal Scorer award, while Gobum Rotduwe of Might Jets won the Best Goalkeeper award.

The two finalists will now represent Plateau State in the Nigeria Christian Cup.
