PLASCHEMA BEGINS CAPACITY-BUILDING/TRAINING SERIES WITH STAFF OF THE AGENCY.

The Plateau State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (PLASCHEMA) has commenced the first phase of a series of meetings and training sessions aimed at building the capacity of its workforce. The engagement, which brought together all staff at the Agency’s headquarters, was held on Monday at the Chrest Hotel in Jos.

The all-day session marked the beginning of a structured program by the newly appointed Acting Director General, Dr. Kwande Solomon Dawal, and the Management of the Agency to strengthen internal operations and reposition the Agency for greater service delivery.

During the program, Directors of various departments delivered detailed presentations on the operations of their departments, while staff engaged in interactive sessions with management on ways to improve efficiency and deepen the Agency’s impact.

In his welcome address, Dr. Dawal thanked Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the Agency, pledging to advance its mission in line with the “Time is Now” agenda of the present administration.

“As I look into the future, I know that we are poised to do much more than we have done in the past,” Dr. Dawal said. “We must commit ourselves to the cause of the Agency’s mission and achieve the good ambition of the ‘Time is Now’ administration.”

He outlined key milestones for PLASCHEMA under his leadership, emphasizing the need to significantly increase enrollment of Plateau residents into the State health insurance scheme. “There is no health insurance without lives enrolled in the scheme,” he stressed.

The Acting DG also highlighted plans to harness partnerships with local governments, traditional rulers, religious institutions, the private sector, community associations, and individual citizens to strengthen health coverage across the state.

He promised to consolidate on improving the existing local government offices of the Agency, automate the operations of the Agency for improved efficiency, and prioritize staff welfare as part of his leadership focus.

The training was timely and motivating, as it provided staff with a clearer understanding of their roles in actualizing the Agency’s vision. The series of engagements will continue with subsequent phases covering staff across other local government offices to be carried out in the three zones.
