JOS MAIN MARKET AUTHORITY INSPECTS ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE AT KABONG SATELLITE MARKET

The General Manager of the Jos Main Market Authority, Engr. Mangna Yusuf Wamyil, on Monday led an inspection tour of the road infrastructure within Kabong Satellite Market, Jos, alongside Engr. Onoja Andrew, Managing Director of AVI Construction Limited.

The inspection was carried out to identify critical areas requiring intervention, with the goal of providing durable access roads that will ease movement for traders, customers, and transporters within the market. The team also reviewed possible designs to ensure the roads meet modern safety and engineering standards.

Engr. Mangna Wamyil observed that the deteriorated condition of roads within Kabong Market, exacerbated by erosion and inadequate drainage infrastructure, has consistently impeded trading activities, and restricting access for both vehicular and pedestrian movement. He stressed that remedial interventions in this regard would not only enhance safety and accessibility but also stimulate patronage, and significantly improve the overall efficiency of market operations.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Market Authority to work hand-in-hand with stakeholders, assuring traders and residents that the anticipated road project is part of a broader plan to make Kabong Satellite Market a model of sustainable urban commerce in Plateau State, as envisioned by His Excellency Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
