GOVERNOR MUTFWANG ENCOURAGES PLATEAU UNITED, BOOSTS MORALE, AND ASSURES RESOLUTION OF TEAM CHALLENGES

In a remarkable show of support and motivation, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, on Thursday attended the training session of Plateau United Football Club at the Zaria Road Stadium, Jos. The visit underscored his administration’s commitment to uplifting the team, its supporters, and the spirit of sportsmanship across the state.

Addressing the players and supporters, Governor Mutfwang urged the team not to let recent setbacks dampen their morale but to remain united, focused, and persistent in the pursuit of success.

“Do not allow the current challenges to demoralize you,” he said. “Stay united, work together, and remain consistent in your efforts. The season is still long, and there is great hope for Plateau United.”

The Governor commended the team for their spirited performance in their last away match in Enugu, noting that their effort on the field was commendable despite their inability to secure a goal. He reminded them that football is unpredictable, some teams start poorly and end triumphantly, assuring them that brighter days lie ahead.
“I know you are a talented group of players,” he added. “Though you’ve conceded some goals, do not let that define you or hinder your progress. Remember, you are playing for yourselves, for the badge you wear, for Plateau State, and for the supporters who believe in you. The best is yet to come, and by God’s grace, we will address all the teething problems facing this team.”

Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed the steadfast support of his administration, pledging to ensure the team receives the necessary backing to excel. He also personally promised additional incentives:

“The government’s support for Plateau United has not changed, we will stand by you. As a club, you’ve been promised match and winning bonuses, but from my own pocket, I will add another bonus to encourage you.”

The Governor appealed to all stakeholders and supporters to focus on rallying behind the team rather than creating distractions. He emphasized unity, saying, “Every lover of Plateau United must join hands to support this team. Distractions and divisions must be set aside. Together, we will celebrate Plateau United’s success at the end of this season.”

Highlighting the importance of teamwork, he reminded the players that football thrives on collective effort:
“Soccer is about teamwork. No matter how talented an individual player is, victory comes only when you play for one another. Support and challenge each other to become better players, and the sky will be your limit.”

Responding on behalf of the team, Plateau United captain, Albert Hilary thanked Governor Mutfwang for his visit and encouragement. He assured the Governor and the people of Plateau State that the team would work hard to make them proud and uphold the club’s image.

The Governor also visited the players of Mighty Jets International FC of Jos, led by the General Manager, Ferdinand Mbum and encouraged them to put in their best ahead of the upcoming season.

In a related development, Governor Mutfwang also inspected ongoing construction work along Farin Gada Road. He assured market women and traders of his administration’s commitment to improving their welfare and enhancing their livelihoods through infrastructure development.
