2027: PLATEAU PEOPLE WILL REJECT APC AGAIN IN THE STATE – LIE, LIE SHITTU BAMAIYI
A Plateau-based pressure group under the umbrella of the "VANGUARD OF THE VOICE OF REASONING" has laughed off the recent outburst by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State over the Middle Belt ethnic nationalities’ endorsement of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, describing it as “the wail of a beaten wrestler who knows the match is already lost before the next round.”
Reacting to the statement credited to the APC’s “confused and misleading” State Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, the group’s Chairman, James Buba, said in a press release on Monday, August 11, 2025, in Jos, that the APC on the Plateau “has never truly existed except in name. What we had was a band of political opportunists who rode to power on the wings of sentiment in 2015, only to squander the goodwill and betray the hopes of the people, leading to their total rejection in 2023.”
According to Buba, the Middle Belt endorsement of Governor Mutfwang is “a handshake across the Niger”, a clear vote of confidence earned through visible and verifiable achievements in health, tourism, transport, and security, where the Governor has “stood like the Rock of Gibraltar” in defence of the people against murderous herdsmen attacks.
“For us, APC’s tantrums are nothing but the cry of a child whose sweets have been taken away. The endorsement of Governor Mutfwang is just the beginning. They should prepare earplugs because more voices from every community, every ward, and every household will rise in unison to say, ‘Carry go, Caleb!’ Shittu Bamaiyi will write until his ink runs dry, but the endorsements will keep rolling in,” he said.
The group recalled that “the way Plateau people rejected the APC candidate in 2023 was like a bad coin no one wants to touch,” stressing that by 2027, the rejection will be even louder because many who doubted Mutfwang have now tasted the dividends of good governance and will return
