2027: PLATEAU CENTRAL PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOVERNOR MUTFWANG, ENDORSES HIM FOR SECOND TERM
The Plateau Central Senatorial District has officially endorsed the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 elections.
The endorsement follows what stakeholders described as his people-centered and transformational leadership, which has positively impacted both urban and rural communities across the state.
The historic decision was reached yesterday during an expanded meeting of key stakeholders comprising party executives, leaders, and political stalwarts from the zone, held at Retnan Suites, Jos.
Chairman of the PDP Central Zone, Hon. Monday Daspan, who set the tone for the meeting, said Governor Mutfwang has raised the bar of governance in Plateau State through exceptional leadership that has endeared him to citizens.
He noted that within just two years, the governor has taken bold, progressive steps that have repositioned the state on the path of sustainable development. He described the governor as “God’s gift to Plateau, sent to recover and rebuild the state in line with the vision of its founding fathers.”
Consequently,Hon. Raymond Deshi, former Chairman of Kanke LGA, moved a motion for the endorsement of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the second tenure in view of his leadership qualities that have restored hope and confidence of Plateau people in government.
The motion was seconded by the former Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the PDP, Hon. Yakubu Ibn Salami who reaffirmed his hope that Plateau will rise and shine brightly under Governor Mutfwang.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Rt. Hon. Istifanus Mwansat, who affirmed that Mutfwang deserves another four years in 2027, particularly to consolidate gains in rural development and economic empowerment.
He stressed that the governor has demonstrated courage, competence, and vision through visible transformation in health, transportation, tourism, agriculture, education, and human capital development.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff, Government House Jos, Bldr. Jeremiah Satmak, said extending Governor Mutfwang’s mandate will guarantee deeper development, especially in rural communities where the majority of Plateau’s population reside. He commended the governor for charting a new course of transformational leadership anchored on fulfilling his social contract with the people.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Philemon Daffi, observed that Governor Mutfwang has demonstrated a deep understanding of the yearnings and aspirations of Plateau people.
He lauded his efforts in securing communities from internal and external aggressors and called for continued prayers and support to sustain the momentum. According to him, “A peaceful and progressive Plateau is possible if citizens rally behind the governor in his decisive actions.”
Elder Emmanuel Mangni and Mrs. Lububu Shemu who spoke on behalf of the Elders and Women, all thanked the Governor for the visible development in the state and urged the party to rally round the Governor in the interest of peace and development in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang reaffirmed his commitment to running an inclusive government guided by fairness, justice, and empathy. He urged party leaders to strengthen internal democracy by carrying everyone along, assuring that his administration will remain open and participatory.
The strategic meeting was attended by all five local government council chairmen from the zone, party chairmen, elders, women, youths, and stalwarts, who unanimously endorsed the decision to return the “People’s Governor” to Government House, Rayfield, in 2027.
