GOVERNOR MUTFWANG SWEARS IN HON. KADI BADAMSI KABIR ADAM, CHARGES HIM TO UPHOLD JUSTICE WITH INTEGRITY
The Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has sworn in Hon. Kadi Badamsi Kabir Adam as a Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Jos. The Governor charged the new judicial officer to uphold justice with utmost integrity, professionalism, and reverence for the rule of law.
Speaking during the swearing-in at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos, Governor Mutfwang emphasized that the appointment was purely merit-based, devoid of ethnic, religious, or political considerations.
“We have maintained merit as our guiding principle, and this appointment followed due diligence by the Judicial Service Commission and was duly affirmed by the National Judicial Council,” the Governor stated.
He described the judiciary as a vital pillar of democracy, currently grappling with a national crisis of confidence, and urged the newly sworn-in Khadi to be a shining light in restoring public trust in the justice system.
“You are assuming this sacred responsibility at a time when the judiciary is under intense public scrutiny. I urge you to uphold fairness, equity, and impartiality. Let your judgments be guided by the fear of God and a clear conscience,” he charged.
Governor Mutfwang commended the Plateau State judiciary for maintaining a high standard of professionalism, adding that the state has largely been insulated from the negative perceptions affecting the judiciary in other parts of the country. He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary, including addressing outstanding entitlements of retired judicial officers.
In his response after taking the Oath of Office, Hon. Kadi Badamsi Kabir Adam pledged to uphold the sacred trust reposed in him and to align his service with the values of justice, equity, and moral uprightness.
“I am deeply honored by this appointment. I pledge to discharge my duties with integrity and impartiality, to promote the welfare and dignity of all who appear before the Court, and to collaborate with all stakeholders in the pursuit of justice,” he declared.
The ceremony drew attendance from across the judiciary, executive, legislature, religious and traditional institutions, reflecting the significance of the occasion and the administration’s commitment to institutional integrity and good governance.
