WOMEN WING OF MWAGHAVUL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (MDA) PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE HONOURABLE ATTORNEY-GENERAL OF PLATEAU STATE
The leadership of the Women Wing of the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA), led by Mrs. Gora Grace, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Plateau State, Barr. P. A. Daffi, in appreciation of the ongoing developmental strides in the state.
During the visit, the women commended the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, for his inclusive and people-oriented leadership. They acknowledged that his administration has proven to be one of compassion and equity, with visible impacts across all 17 Local Government Areas of the state. They also offered prayers for divine guidance and protection over the Governor, his cabinet, and the state, especially in these trying times of insecurity.
FOCUS AREAS & MANDATES OF THE WOMEN WING
The MDA Women Wing highlighted the success of their recently concluded elections and presented a set of goals they are committed to achieving during their tenure. These include:
1. Training and Skill Acquisition Programs for women to enhance their economic stability.
2. Leadership Development Programs to raise the next generation of women leaders within Mwaghavul communities and Plateau State at large.
3. Establishment of a Women Employment and Empowerment Centre aimed at supporting MDA women and the less privileged across the state.
4. The setup of a functional administrative office to coordinate and implement their programs effectively.
PREVIOUS SUPPORT & INITIATIVES
The women leaders also shared their recent contributions toward social development, including:
Support and relief materials for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Mangu LGA.
Assistance to a local skills acquisition school in Mangu, aimed at empowering vulnerable community members, especially women and youth.
RESPONSE FROM THE HON. ATTORNEY-GENERAL
In his response, Hon. P. A. Daffi warmly welcomed the delegation and commended their passion and commitment to community development. He urged them to remain true to their promises, emphasizing that their success would have a far-reaching impact on women and children in society.
He reiterated the state government's readiness to support meaningful and inclusive initiatives, stating:
> "When you empower a woman, you empower a whole society."
The Attorney-General assured the MDA Women Wing of his unwavering support and collaboration in achieving their mandates and improving the lives of women across Plateau State.
