LEADERSHIP PERSPECTIVE TO A POLITICIAN

In Nigeria today, the statement of a leader in politics is always misconstrued by many young people due to deliberate efforts to discredit one another in the name of opposition.

A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.

Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang since assuming office as the Governor of Plateau State has defined leadership in the true sense of the word as the capacity to translate a vision into reality, setting the pace for unity, building confidence and trust among Plateau citizens. A total  departure of the usual norm laid by his immediate predecessor.

The Governor of Plateau State has continued to demonstrate these three essentials to leadership: humility, sincerity of purpose and courage.

Recently there has been a debate between a Leader and a Politician. Ofcourse, Barr. Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang is far more than a mere politician who trivializes every policy and issue by taking advantage of a few gullible. Barr. Caleb Mutfwang is a leader.

A people's choice leader is driven by a desire to make a positive impact, prioritizing the greater good over personal interests. In contrast, a politician's primary motivation is often career advancement and retaining power at all cost against the voices of the people who made a definite statement through the ballot.

This difference in motivation influences their decision-making processes, with leaders like Barr. Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang focuses on long-term benefits and prioritizes Plateau interest first, while those who see themselves as super  politicians prioritize short-term gains thereby imposing themselves on the electorates by force and power grabbing which they refer to as "Politics".

Leaders make decisions based on the greater good, even if unpopular, whereas politicians may compromise their principles to achieve political objectives or maintain their position. A leader's integrity and commitment to their values are unwavering, earning them trust and respect from their followers. Politicians, on the other hand, may be more flexible with their values, leading to a perception of being less trustworthy.

A people's choice leader like Barr. Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang has a clear and inspiring vision for the future of Plateau which he always  effectively communicates to Plateaunians.

A Politician may lack a cohesive vision, focusing instead on immediate issues and the political agenda of diverting attention. Leaders inspire and motivate others to work towards a shared goal, while politicians may rely on manipulation and short-term promises to achieve their selfish objectives.

The relationship between a leader and their followers is built on trust, loyalty, and mutual respect. Politicians, however, often have more superficial relationships with their constituents, centered around political support, personal interest and votes only.

Yes, while both people's choice-leaders and politicians play important roles in shaping a society, their motivations, decision-making processes, and relationships with their followers are distinctly different. By understanding these differences, we can make more informed choices about who we support and elect to represent our interests at home or away from home. "While one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos".

I choose a leader ahead of a mere politician.
