POLICE STAFF COLLEGE IN JOS CAN INITIATIVE SECURITY MEASURES BEYOND THE COLLEGE

By Anna Paul-Gindiri

The Commandant Police Staff College Jos AIG Adebowale Williams has been urged to extend his efforts of ensuring security of lives and property of citizens beyond the College vicinity in Jos as a “deliberate interest in the security architecture and service delivery of Plateau State.”

Governor Mutfwang made the call when  the Commandant paid a courtesy call on the Governor in Rayfield.

According to Governor Mutfwang, with the wealth of experience of AIG Adebowale Williams with criminal cases, the governor expressed confidence that his expertise would provide valuable advice and support in the fight against crime.
"With your resume' I believe  you didn't waste your time in the police. You stretched and overstretched yourself to learn and learn more. And I believe that all the learning experiences you have acquired and added value to the staff college more than ever before. We need particularly senior police officers to be a lot more educated, a lot more broad minded, a lot more with emotional intelligence. Because you deal with real life situations that cannot be read in classrooms. And when somebody is not thoroughly equipped, he can mismanage the situation".
" And so your institute becomes a very critical component in grooming efficient officers who will not only serve the force meritoriously, but also be able to perform their constitutional role of maintaining peace and order in society. I like to therefore encourage you to take your job with uncommon passion and succeed effectively".

In  his remarks, the Commandant Police Staff College Jos AIG Adebowale William said;
"Your Excellency, we are here today not only to pay our respects but also to explore avenues for deeper collaboration between the Police Staff College Jos and the Plateau State Government. We believe that by working together, we can enhance the capacity of our officers to address emerging security challenges and contribute to the sustainable development of this state".

Williams  thanked the Executive Governor for being a good host.
"We are also grateful for the hospitality and support that Plateau State has consistently extended to the Police Staff College Jos. Your state has been a gracious host to our institution, and we are proud to be part of this vibrant community".
