PLSG HANDS OVER SITE TO PARTNERS FOR THE BUILDING OF UBP 170 OXYGEN/NITROGEN PLANT

In its commitment to improving healthcare service delivery in Plateau State, the state government has provided the site for the building of a UBP 170 Oxygen/Nitrogen Plant.
Commissioner of Health, Dr. Nicholas Ba’amlong was at the General Hospital, Mangu to, on behalf of the state government, hand over the site to Sea Labour Multitask Concept Company Limited for the project to commence.
Speaking during the event, the Commissioner thanked God for everything he has been doing on the Plateau and appreciated Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his many development initiatives and especially his attention to the health sector.
He recalled that only recently, the Governor commissioned two oxygen plants in Pankshin and Shendam General Hospitals respectively, a cottage hospital at Sikyen in Bokkos LGA even as there are ongoing projects at the Plateau Specialist Hospital and many others in different sectors.
Dr. Ba’amlong who called on the community to cooperate with the contractor for smooth execution of the project appealed to citizens to shun divisive tendencies and focus on the things that will benefit humanity.
In his words, “this project will be one of its kind as it is going to be a big oxygen plant that will supply oxygen to other places in need.”
Dr. Ba’amlong thanked the development partners for their support explained that “the project is not only government bringing money but rather our partners will contribute their quarter too.”
Responding to the Commissioner's remarks, the District Head of Bungha and Yawoo, His Royal Highness, Denan Danladi on behalf of the Mishkom Mwaghavul, His Royal Highness John Putmang Hirse appreciated the government and partners for bringing such developments to their domain, stating that the oxygen plant will not just benefit Mangu LGA but everyone in need of the oxygen.
In his remark, the Chief Medical Director of Hospitals Management Board (PSHMB), Dr. Benjamin Sumi appreciated the government and partners for making the project possible, thanked the traditional rulers for leading the delegation to visit the site suitable for the project and called on the hospital and community to cooperate with the government and the contractors.
The Managing Director of Sea Labour Multitask Company, Mr. Tepyit Dalong and the Company’s architect, Zechariah Buhari appreciated the Plateau State government for sealing the deal as well as the Mishkom Mwaghavul for graciously donating the 10 plots of land needed for the project.
Dr. Phemy Bekaiye, the Chief Medical Superintendent of the General Hospital Mangu, expressed appreciation to the state government and partners, stating that “we are happy to have this development in the hospital as this will save lives” and promised to collaborate with the government and contractors to ensure the realization of the project.
Other personalities present during the visit were the Director, Medical Services, Plateau State Ministry of Health, Dr. Stephen Bishmang; Desk Officer, Medical Oxygen Programme, Dr Bapiga'an William Audu; Liaison Officer to the Executive Governor, Mangu South Constituency, Hon. Bala Fwanje; and officials of Sea Labour Multitask Concepts Company Limited, among others.
