PLATEAU FOOTBALL FAMILY HONOURS GOV. CALEB MUTFWANG AT 60 WITH A NOVELTY FOOTBALL MATCH

The rejuvenated Plateau Football Association (PFA) under the able  leadership of a true Plateau son, a team player, a goal-getter and result oriented, Hon.Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande on Saturday 15th March, honours the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang with a well organized Five-Aside novelty football match played between The Plateau State Executive arm vs Plateau State Legislative arm.

The Diamond Jubilee match to celebrate the governor's 60th birthday witnessed in attendance, past/serving state and federal legislators, members of the state executive council, permanent secretaries, ex-internationals, investors, media, football stakeholders on the Plateau, heads of boards and parastatals.
Venue of the match, KruiseYard synthetic pitch at Rayfield, Jos South LGC suffered some pressure last night, as the usual saying goes "when two elephants meet, the grass suffer".

The match started at 8p.m with a ceremonial kickoff by the former minority leader at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Simon Mwadkwon Fwet.
Immediately the ball was set rolling on a high spirit with both sides displaying some good soccer skills as the legislators opened scoring in the 9th minute of play with Hon. Hart Bankat in goal for the executives.
The combined attacking force of Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma and Hon. Lawandi Datti gave the executives something to smile, with an equaliser in the 12th minutes of play before the introduction of Hon. Musa Ashoms as a substitute from the bench who later added more bite in the attack, troubling the legislators in front of goal as the Honourable speaker, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Kudangbena Dewan watched helplessly on the sideline as his side conceded 5 goals, courtesy a hat-trick by Hon. Lawandi Datti.

Talking football in Plateau State, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, a former NFF board member has continue to provide practical leadership by being deliberate in taking football to another level, bringing another dimension by using football as a tool for peaceful coexistence in the State since his emergence as the PFA Chairman. Indeed, the novelty match is a true reflection of Plateau unity and the current political tranquility enjoyed in the state irrespective of political party affiliation, tribe or religion.
The match ended 5-2 in favour of the Executive arm of the Government.
