PEPSA FORGES PARTNERSHIPS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND PUBLIC AWARENESS
The Plateau State Environmental Protection and Sanitation Agency (PEPSA) continues to make strides in promoting environmental sustainability and public health in Plateau State. Yesterday, March 11, 2025, the agency, under the leadership of Director General Samuel Nathaniel Dapiya, received two distinguished delegations, each bringing valuable contributions towards a cleaner and greener Plateau.
In a bid to enhance environmental conservation, the Think for She Foundation, led by Longdi Alexander Yildet, paid a courtesy visit to PEPSA to seek collaboration on a large-scale tree-planting initiative. The foundation aims to plant 1,000 trees, beginning with the development of a tree nursery, as part of efforts to combat climate change and improve green cover in the state.
The Director General of PEPSA, Samuel Dapiya, expressed his delight at the foundation’s commitment to sustainability and assured them of the agency’s full support. He emphasized the importance of afforestation in preserving the environment and pledged PEPSA’s cooperation in ensuring the success of this initiative.
On the same day, media aides to His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, from Mangu LGA, visited PEPSA to commend the agency’s remarkable transformation under DG Samuel Dapiya’s leadership. They praised his dedication and innovative approach, which have significantly improved environmental management in the state.
During the visit, Mr. Izang Dauda, Assistant Director of Administration at PEPSA, highlighted the agency’s recent successes, particularly Plateau State’s rise from below 16th to 6th place in environmental cleanliness among Nigeria’s 36 states within just one year. The delegation expressed confidence in Mr. Dapiya’s ability to drive Plateau toward becoming the cleanest and healthiest state in Nigeria.
In his remarks, Samuel Dapiya expressed his gratitude to the visiting media aides for their support and recognition of PEPSA’s efforts. He underscored the vital role of the media in amplifying Governor Mutfwang’s environmental initiatives and called for enhanced media engagement to further promote the administration’s achievements across all sectors.
These visits mark another milestone in PEPSA’s mission to foster collaboration and implement strategic initiatives aimed at sustaining a cleaner and healthier Plateau State. The agency remains committed to working with stakeholders to achieve a lasting impact in environmental protection and public sanitation.
