GOVERNOR MUTFWANG ASSURES CITIZENS OF THE PRUDENT USE OF TAXPAYERS’ MONEY FOR THEIR WELFARE

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to utilizing taxpayers’ money responsibly to improve the welfare and well-being of citizens.

Governor Mutfwang gave the assurance on Friday while receiving a delegation of Council members and Management of the  Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), led by its President & Chairman of the council, Samuel Olusola Agbeluyi, on a courtesy visit to the Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

He noted that tax administration in Plateau State has significantly improved and assured the institute of the government’s readiness to collaborate in building the capacity of its members to enhance service delivery.

Commending the institute for choosing Jos as the venue for its Council Meeting, the governor stated that the decision reflects the hospitable nature of the Plateau people, who are known for their tolerance and willingness to welcome visitors from within and outside the country.

Governor Mutfwang encouraged CITN members to serve as good ambassadors of the state, emphasizing that the Plateau remains a peaceful and business-friendly environment with a favourable climate for economic activities.

In his remarks, CITN President Samuel Olusola Agbeluyi revealed that this is the third time in 43 years that the institute’s Council meeting is being held outside Lagos and Abuja. 

He attributed the choice of Plateau State to Governor Mutfwang’s leadership style, which has fostered peace, economic stability and growth.

He also solicited the state government's support in advocating for the passage of tax reform bills at the National Assembly, as well as assistance with accommodation and logistics for the institute’s district office in Jos.

The President also seized the opportunity to invite His Excellency for the next Annual Tax Conference-ATC coming on the 13th of May, 2025 in Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Plot 47, Km 8, Umaru Musa Yar’adua Exp Way, Airport Road.
