PLATEAU FOOTBALL REFEREE'S HELD A TRIAL FITNESS TEST FOR ALL GRADED REFEREE'S IN THE STATE WITH PLATEAU FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION SUPPORT
The Zaria road stadium in Jos, Plateau State capital witnessed a turnout of football lovers today who came to witness the 2024/25 Plateau State Football Referee's fitness test trial organized by the Council/Jos North training wing in collaboration with Plateau Football Association (PFA)
The aim of the fitness test trial is to assess the level of fitness both mentally and physically for all graded professional football referees in Plateau State after undergoing a comprehensive medical checkup at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) inorder to prepare the referees for the Zonal and National fitness test coming up in a fortnight. This includes all Nigeria Nationwide referees on the Plateau(NNWL), Nigeria National League referee's on the Plateau (NNL) and the Nigeria Premier Football League referee's on the Plateau (NPFL).
The fitness test event got the full backing of the chairman, Plateau Football Association (PFA), Honourable Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande who was present as a father of football in the state.
Hon. Suleiman Kwande was visibly happy with the participation of both the female and young referee's in the fitness test event. He challenged referee's to always put in their best whenever duty calls both at the grassroot, national and international level while promising to always protect the interest of football referees being an affiliated body under the FA.
Accompanying the PFA Chairman was Mr. Sammy Adesoji, PFA media and other football stakeholders in the state.
At the end of the fitness test trial Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande donated drinks for the referees.
The chairman, Plateau Football Referee's Council, comrade Joshua Baba Gotom appreciated the PFA Chairman for the support to Plateau State referees anytime his attention is needed despite the impromptu notification due to the recent curfew reviews in the state as a result of the nationwide protest.
Other referee's assessors were present at the event as instructors with Victoria Cuktu ( Fifa Rtd) as chief instructor while Austin Eyeroli was in charge of technical. While Musa Wayas, Salaudeen, Henry Nyior were all onground assisting the training wing since the council training officer, fifa Dung Musa Davou also took part in the race.
