PWAKIM MERITORIOUSLY TAKES A BOW AS PPPN PRESIDENT
The Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN) today inaugurated her new Executives after the outgone executives led by Mr. Pwakim Jacob Choji meritoriously served their two years term in office.
In a brief Handing over/inauguration ceremony, the chairman transition committee, Mr Jephta D expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation from members and other civil society groups while the outgone president of the PPPN, Mr Jacob Pwakim appreciated his team members for maximum support, co-operation and commitment during their tenure in office.
In His handing over, Mr Pwakim stated how in 2021 during their inauguration inherited the sum of seven thousand naira (#7,000.00) only, but today they are handing over to the new executives the sum of over Two hundred thousand naira only which shows growth and accountability.
The outgone president, Mr Pwakim highlighted few achievements among many while in Office which includes;
✓Proper documentation of their activities
✓opening a website for PPPN
plateaupeacepractionersnetwork.org
✓organizing training sessions towards peace building among communities
✓initiating dialogue among people and communities
✓fostering partnership with government agencies and communities
And many others.
The new PPPN President, Mr Bali Nanmak appreciated everyone present and promised to build on the foundation already laid together with his team members.
The new PPPN President immediately performed his first function after inauguration by constituting a Social Media Committee to handle their social media handles.
Other Members of the new PPPN Exco's are Hajiya Maimuna Abdullahi - Vice president, Mr Kingsley Obidah - Secretary, Mr Pam - Assistant secretary and Mr David I - media and publicity.
The above executives were administered the oath of office by Barrister Timothy Parlong.
Goodwill messages came from;
1. The Coordinator TEKAN Peace Desk, Mrs Helen Haggai who recalled how the network started way back in 2009 at Bishop court in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria.
2. The Executive Director CEPID, Dr. Imran
3. The Plateau State Commissioner of Police, ably represented
4. The Commandant NSCDC, Plateau State Command
5. The Director General, Plateau Peace Building Agency, Dr. Julie Sanda who took time to advise the new executives on how to go about with their engagements when it comes to peace building. In her words, Peace building is everybody's business where everyone is involved which requires partnership and coordination.
