PLATEAU FOOTBALL REFEREE'S WALLOPED SPORTS WRITER'S ASSOCIATION IN A FOOTBALL CLASH

In what seems to be a novelty football match in honour of the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Kwande on his birthday at the new Jos Zaria Road Stadium brought back memories of the long football rivalry between the two football stakeholders of the whistle and the pen profession respectively, with both sides displaying good football skills and experience with Team Plateau Football Referee's Council (PRC) dominating play by  beating the visibly fatigue Sport's Writers Association (SWAN) team 3-1.

The defence of Team Plateau Football Referee's was solidly Marshalled by Shola Akanji and Landet Yuabamson while Zachariah Shom, Kitwuna Godem were in firm control of the midfield connecting with the striking force of Dantala Isa Akums, Jimmy Pam Jerry and Rayyanu Abubakar.

Team SWAN opened scoring in the first half through Yunana Dauda while Team Plateau Football Referee's equalized in the second half through their captain Jimmy Pam Jerry.
Introduction of JohnPaul Gorrip by the Plateau Referee's in the second half of play produced the desired result by scoring the second goal through a Peter Azi's assist.

Technical Adviser of Team Plateau Football Referee's together with the head coach Abdulganiyu made two super- substitutions by introducing Abbas Musa and Isaac Jizak Godem. The combination of these twin strikers sealed the victory for Plateau Referee's with Isaac Jizak Godem scoring the third goal assisted by Abbas Musa's first touch.

At the end of the friendly encounter, the chairman of Plateau Referee's Council, comrade Joshua Baba Gotom appreciated all stakeholders present while the SWAN chairman Plateau state branch Mr Andrew Bisyet prayed God to bless the birthday celebrant and appreciated all stakeholders.
SWAN captain, Sammy Adesoji spoke passionately about the development of grassroot sports on the Plateau and challenged all partners in progress to come together so as to move football on the Plateau.

Pa Fehintola, a retired football Referee who will be 89years old by 5th May was very happy at the Zaria road stadium watching how Referee's walloped the sports writers Association without Mercy. The Elderstatesman also spoke passionately about unity and sports development on the Plateau.
While the celebrant, Hon. Dr Suleiman Kwande announced the donation of brand new sets of jerseys to Team Plateau Football Referee's Council and Team SWAN respectively.

Other officials present at the venue were the secretary of Plateau Referee's Council and his assistant Noel Bancir and Datom Dauda, Eunice Amallam, chairperson of Jos north referee's society together with other SWAN officials.
The match ended 3-1 in favour of Plateau Referee's Council.
