MATRICULATION CEREMONY AT THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF FORESTRY JOS
FEDERAL COLLEGE OF FORESTRY JOS MATRICULATES NEW STUDENTS
The Federal College of Forestry Jos founded in 1958, today matriculated a total of 300 students in various National Board for Technical Education accredited programmes of the institution held at the Professor A.O Adepoju Dome Theatre Jos.
Acting Provost of the College, Dr. Meyiwa Stephen Chomini in his address felicitate with the matriculating students for the attainment of this milestone achievement in gaining admission into the various programmes of the institution.
The Acting Provost also admonished the new students to be law abiding assuring them of a conducive learning environment just as the management remains committed to maintaining a good and cordial relationship with students.
Zachariah B. Yaduma Ph.D, The Director General/CEO Forestry Research Institute Of Nigeria, declared the ceremony open by challenging the new students to excel against all odds and never to allow pair groups influence affect their academic pursuit, while praying that the collage will one day be upgraded to a Federal University of Research Institute.
The College Registrar, Felicia Okwugba who administered the oath of allegiance to the matriculating students, advised the students to take the oath serious and be committed to their studies to become great leaders of tomorrow.
At the matriculation ceremony, the following Heads of Departments presented their matriculating students;
Forestry and Environmental Technology, Statistics, Agric.Extension and Management, Horticultural Technology, Crop Production Technology, Pest Management Technology, Agricultural Technology, Computer science, Science Laboratory Technology and vocational courses.
The occasion was well attended by dignitaries, Parents/Guidance of the matriculating students, non academic staff and well-wishers.
One of the well-wishers present at the occasion, Jimmy Pam Jerry challenged the new students to justify the efforts of their parents in making sure they become great future leaders because THE TIME IS NOW, leadership starts from now.
